This document outlines the steps required to integrate eADM Motivati in order to automate user, department, and role management.
Overview
Motivati is a Norwegian tool designed for employee development and performance reviews. The integration between eADM Motivati automates the export and management of users, departments, and roles.
-
Automated Lifecycle Management: When an employee's status changes (e.g., they leave the organization) or a department is closed, their access and information in Motivati are updated accordingly.
-
Flexible User Provisioning: Employee accounts in Motivati can be created automatically or assigned manually as needed.
-
Customizable Data Flow: As with other target systems, synchronization templates control the data flow, allowing you to decide exactly which data is transferred to Motivati.
For more information on the integration and the Motivati platform, please see their official API documentation: https://motivati.docs.apiary.io/#
Pre-configuration
Before you can configure the integration, you must obtain an API key from Motivati.
-
Contact Motivati to request access for the Identum integration.
-
Motivati will provide you with an API token.
-
You must securely send this API token to Identum.
Note: The API token is a long string of characters. Example: RaQdAWgEJE5MFtgj99DZw19YxEi2lm8YyjPRKW9xEDbM0hfwSjQ8fePUZIGSkdLS
Workshop
We recommend a 30- to 45-minute kickoff meeting with the person responsible for Motivati in your organization to finalize the configuration. The following points will be decided during this meeting.
Define Synchronization Scope
You must decide which users and departments from eADM be synchronized with Motivati.
Consider the following:
-
Should all employees be exported, or just a subset?
-
Should manually created user accounts in eADM included?
-
Do you have users in eADM other entities (e.g., related property companies or external councils) who should be excluded from the synchronization?
Provide Motivational Roles
Identum requires a complete list of all roles from Motivati that you want to be assignable from eADM. For each role, you must provide both the Role Name and the Role Number.
Define Data Mapping
You need to decide which user attributes from eADM be transferred to Motivati. The table below shows a typical mapping configuration.
