How to Manually Trigger a Synchronization Cycle (Legacy Client)

This applies only to the legacy eADM . The latest version allows you to start a new cycle from the user interface. Please contact support when you are ready to upgrade to the latest version.

If you need to update eAdm new data from your HR system outside of the regularly scheduled synchronization times, you can trigger the process manually. This is done using the Windows Task Scheduler on the server where the eAdm client is installed.

Procedure

Follow these steps to safely perform a manual synchronization.

1. Check the current synchronization status

Before starting a new sync, you must verify that no other sync is currently running.

  1. In the eAdm portal, go to Synchronization > Synchronization Status.

  2. Verify that the last synchronization cycle is marked as "Completed" and that all steps have a green checkmark.

Warning: If a synchronization is already in progress or has failed, do not start a new one. The status must show "Completed" before you proceed. If you are unsure, please contact Identum support for assistance.

2. Run the Synchronization Task

  1. Log in to the server where the eAdm client is installed.

  2. Open Task Scheduler.

  3. In the Task Scheduler Library, locate and select the task named " eAdm ."

  4. Right-click the task and select Run.

  5. Wait for the task to finish. You may need to click the Refresh button in the Task Scheduler's Actions pane to see the updated status. The "Status" column will show "Ready" when the task is complete.

3. Clear Your Cache

Once the server task is complete, you must clear your local cache in the eAdm interface to view the newly imported data.

  1. Click on your user profile icon in the top-right corner of the eAdm .

  2. Select " Settings " from the dropdown menu.

  3. Click the Clear Cache button.

The manual synchronization is now complete. eAdm, Active Directory, and other connected systems have been updated with the latest data from your HR system.
