To prevent large or unintended changes, every data import from a source system (such as an HRM) is processed through an import filter. This filter compares the incoming data with the previous import. If the number of changes exceeds a configured threshold, the synchronization is automatically stopped to allow for a manual review.
For example, the filter will stop the import if the percentage of user deletions exceeds the set limit. The synchronization status will be marked as "Stopped" in the synchronization status dashboard.
Procedure for resuming the import
Follow these steps to verify the changes and resume the synchronization cycle.
1. Verify the changes
Review the changes that caused the import to stop. If your organization has recently undergone significant changes, such as a major reorganization, a high volume of updates is to be expected. In this case, you can proceed directly to resuming the cycle.
2. Review the import log
If you are unsure why the import was stopped, you must review the import log to see the specific changes.
-
Go to Synchronization > Import History.
-
Click on the most recent import to view the change history.
-
Scroll down to the Log section. You can search the log to find specific types of changes:
-
add: Displays new user accounts that will be created.
-
edit: Displays changes to existing accounts.
-
delete: Displays user accounts that will be deleted.
-
-
Verify that the number of new and deleted accounts is reasonable. We recommend performing spot checks on a few accounts to ensure accuracy.
-
If the number of deletions seems too high, double-check the data in the source HRM system to ensure it is correct before proceeding.
3. Restart the synchronization cycle
Once you have verified that the pending changes are correct, you can resume synchronization.
-
Return to the main Synchronization Status page.
-
Click the " Resume synchronization cycle " button.
The data will now be processed and imported into eAdm the next scheduled synchronization run.
Warning: After resuming the synchronization cycle, please keep the following in mind:
-
Urgent Updates: The next synchronization is typically scheduled to run the following day. If new user accounts or changes are needed immediately, you must manually start a full synchronization job from the Task Scheduler on the server where the eAdm is installed.
-
Filter Reactivation: After synchronization is complete, verify that the import filter has been automatically re-enabled to prevent unintended changes in future imports.
