How to Manually Send Notifications

In addition to automated triggers, message templates can be sent manually. This allows you to send notifications on demand to specific users or groups.

You can target recipients in several ways:

  • Individual users

  • All users in a specific department

  • All users with a specific role

  • Users who meet the criteria of a defined rule set

Procedure

  1. Go to " Message Flows " in the main menu and search for the template you want to send.

  2. Open the template and click the "Send Notification " button at the bottom of the page. 3. Select the users the notification is for. After making your selection, click "Send Notification " again to confirm.

Warning: If the message flow is configured to send the notification to a manager or system administrator, the user you select here is not the final recipient. Instead, they are the subject of the message.

Example: Notifying an Administrator About New Users

In this example, we will send a notification to a system administrator for all user accounts created within the last seven days.

  1. First, create a Rule Set to identify the correct users. Configure a rule where the " Created " attribute is set to "After the current time plus 7 days." 2. Go to Message Flows and find the template you want to use. For this example, we'll use "ANS1 - User is created - SMS to employee [Mobile]".

  2. Click on the message thread to open it, and then click Send Notification.

Note: You can also use the paper airplane icon on the right side of the list as a shortcut to the send dialog.

  1. In the selection dialog, choose Rule Set and select the "Users created in the last 7 days" rule set you created earlier

  2. Click " Preview users " to verify that your rule set has selected the correct users.

  3. Once you have confirmed that your selection is correct, click " Send Notification " to complete the process.
